Nathan and Kristin
I am a full-time firefighter and work 24 hour shifts. On some of my days of I work as a part-time firefighter for another department, so my schedule was a little crazy and made it difficult for me to meet woman. I had been out of a serious relationship for about 2 years and had only dated a few times.
Kristin and I met May 20, 2008. We had lunch at a local barbeque restaurant and ice cream afterwards. The conversation was a little slow during lunch but picked up during ice cream and has never slowed down. The lunch date went so well that I picked her up from her house for our second date that evening just 3 hours later.
We have both been involved in past relationships and had done the dating scene for the past couple of years. We were both done playing games and were ready to get down to business. We have shared a very open and real relationship from the very beginning. I have been able to share things with her that I have never shared before. Because of this type of relationship and the fun we are able to have with each other we very quickly became best friends.
She is incredibly analytical; she can wear herself out looking at a decision from every possible situation worrying about crazy what-ifs. I am more of a free spirit. I frequently get myself in over my head with rash decisions. We compliment each other very well and I enjoy sharing my ideas with her and receiving her input.
I have never experienced a relationship such as this. The depth that we have come to know each other in such a short amount of time would have taken years in any other relationship I have had. It has been great experiencing life with someone that shares a common vision and purpose.
I am excited to begin our adventure together and thankful for such an incredible woman.
