Jenny and Rodrigo
He asked me to dinner a few days after being matched and we met halfway at an Italian restaurant. I was so nervous and so was he (he later told me). We both ordered our dinner and could barely eat anything, he only ate 1/2 of his meal. This was due to being nervous and because of endless conversation. We stayed at the restaurant for over 3 hours, and we would have stayed longer but they closed!!
I had a fabulous time, and felt butterflies the entire time! Although I was nervous, I felt calm..I felt like I had known him my whole life and that we were very similar. We hugged goodnight and parted ways. Out of courtesy, I text him when I got home thanking him for a great evening, and that I got home safe. He replied right away saying that he too had a great night! Later, even until this day, he said that was one of his first indicators that I was a caring and thoughtful person, the fact that I thanked him and let him know I was safe. He said it is something not too common this day and age.
As the dates progressed, the more comfortable we began to feel and the more we both realized that we were quite possibly as perfect of a match as can be. Not only did we kind of look the same, but we shared the same values and outlook on life...work hard and have fun!! We both love to spend time outdoors hiking, going to the beach, spending time with family and friends...or just random anythings!
We quickly became partners for life. He has always been so calm and positive and this was something that I really appreciated because my personality was a little more intense. He balances me by providing me with peace and tranquility while I add a little spice to his life (he calls me his Colombian bam-bam), and I think that is a good thing.
Fast forward, we knew months down that we were made for each other. We fell in love quickly and the feeling has lasted and stabilized to a true and mature love....filled with patience, respect, commitment, love and laughs. Never did I expect to meet someone as wonderful as him on eHarmony and I am so thankful everyday for taking a leap of faith.
We became engaged recently on 4/14/2013. He planned the whole proposal with my family to secretly witness at a Temecula winery. He set up a private tour where we did several tastings and were driven around the estate. Then when we arrived to a very beautiful overlook, he proposed!! I cried, he cried, and then my family popped out from behind the wall. Being engaged has definitely made us feel an even deeper connection than before. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
