Sarah and Geoff
By around the 20th day on the website I was sent a match with Geoff (my future husband). I decided he looked like a nice guy, so I gave it a try. We went through the steps and about a month later we had our first date. I knew within minutes of meeting him that he was going to be something special.
Geoff joined eHarmony because he was tired of being set up by everyone he knew. He had always wanted to be a husband and settle down. He saw my picture and thought I was cute and we had the same religion (which was very important to both of us). He took me out to an Italian restaurant on our first date. I actually thought the food was terrible, but I didn't care because I was so focused on him. He recalls that I intimidated him because I had a gaze in my eyes. He was excited after our first date, but was still nervous to trust me with his heart until later that night when I sent him a pix message of myself with my new puppy. At that point he felt more confident in my interest in him.
Seven fast months later, Geoff secretly went over to my parent's house one rainy night while I was out at a concert. My mom made chocolate chip cookies as a rainy day tradition. She offered Geoff a cookie. He held the cookie in his hand, nervously shifting around the couch. The chocolate chips started to melt in his hands as he started to get up the courage to ask my parents for my hand in marriage.
A few weeks later...Geoff asked me to go out to dinner. We were supposed to go on a Gondola ride, but again... it had been pouring rain, so we opted for a more quiet night. After a nice, romantic dinner he said he wanted to take me ice skating. I thought.... ok I guess. I didn't really feel like it but I said I would since it stopped raining. The rink was decorated with Christmas lights and giant candy canes. My favorite holiday is Christmas, so I was happy to be skating in the red and white swirls of lights. Suddenly, he pulled me into the middle of the rink and proposed. I said yes of course, and we looked around and everyone was clapping.
Seven months later we married at Calamigos Ranch. Thank you eHarmony.
