Gloria and Robert
What a wonderful feeling it is to have found someone after spending seventeen years raising my two sons. All my friends thought I was crazy when I told them my children came first...that our lives were too complicated for me to attempt to pursue a relationship. I wanted to wait until my children were older and we had done the healing necessary from my first marriage and divorce. The children were suffering and, admittedly, after such painful years, I was afraid. I remember a friend's response when I talked about waiting. "You'll be 50 years old!" She was almost right.
I was 48 years old when I joined eHarmony with the encouragement of friends. My children had grown up to be wonderful, loving young men and after much healing and soul searching I knew I was ready for a new relationship. Believe me, after seventeen years, I was ready! I was determined to approach this new relationship with my eyes and heart wide open. I wanted to approach this new relationship from the "inside out".
eHarmony provided the perfect vehicle for finding someone who also was not afraid to reveal themselves, to love and be loved. Bob and I do not share the same political views or taste in movies. What we do share is a love of life and a life of love. We are so comfortable with one another. Even before meeting face to face I could tell there was a heart connection. As a friend remarked upon meeting Bob, "you can tell, this is a man you can give your heart to". And that's just what I did. This is the healthiest, loving and most trusting relationship I have ever experienced.
Thank you eHarmony for helping me find this most wonderful person. We acknowledge and respect our differences, rejoice in the ease of being together, and laugh until our sides hurt. With the approval of all of our children (Bob's three daughters and my two sons), Bob proposed and I accepted on December 30, 2005. April 14, 2007 we will be surrounded by friends and family (including his 3 daughters and my 2 sons) as we marry and celebrate, and I do mean celebrate, this most wondrous time in our lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Gloria
