Katie and Craig
Craig and I were both bogged down in our dating efforts. He lived in Jacksonville, NC and was simply not meeting anyone he was interested in dating. He is a Marine Corps officer, and was growing frustrated with his lack of dating options. I was living in Northern Virginia. I had a severely broken leg and a large blood clot, and hadn't been able to walk for the last seven months. During my recovery period, I realized that I was simply choosing the wrong type of men to date. The men my mom set me up with were almost as bad. I turned to eHarmony as a last hope to find a man with the qualities I wanted in mate but seemed unable to find myself. We were matched at a time when we were both already going on dates with several eHarmony matches. Without really talking about it and despite a 6.5 hour drive, we both stopped dating and talking to everyone else we had been matched with. We both felt that eHarmony had matched us with a lot of people we really got along with, but this was the person we not only liked but were also attracted to and wanted to see a lot more of.
Craig proposed on the beach early in 2008, and we were married at the base chapel at Camp LeJeune in September of the same year. We just discovered that we are pregnant! I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for matching me with my best friend. He shares my values, my faith, my life goals, and we are looking forward to a long and happy life together!
