George and Llyn
Three years on eHarmony with no luck, but persisting, at least month to month. Llyn, on the other hand, was new. I was first person to respond to her matches. And, it clicked. She fit all the criteria that I was seeking and then so much more.
Went through the structured communications, but only about three "open messages" before we began direct email and telephone. First date was a lunch in a "neutral" town. I, was open to exploring, and felt that we'd take our relationship one day at a time not putting up barriers, and not racing ahead foolishly.
Well, we did race, but I think with measured confidence. We became engaged in mid-July. We are amazed as we look back at the year, that in spite of travels that separated us for weeks on end, since that day in March when we first spoke by phone, we have not failed to speak and share our love---by phone or in person---on a single day.
In August, we packed up the parsonage and moved Llyn to Charleston. Llyn started a new position, George deployed again with the Red Cross and we realized that it was time for us to take control of our own timetable. So we married on September 16th in a quiet, private ceremony. We still plan to have an exchange of rings and proper celebration, here in the Charleston area with all our friends and family in the early spring. Our life together has been a joyous whirlwind; it is still spinning as we write this. We are happily married, and are enthusiastic supporters of eHarmony.
