Pamela and John
John and I began communicating on May 20th, 2005. We found some really amazing similarities. Within 2 weeks, we realized that we had been in the same choral group, sitting a few feet apart, for about 3 years. I had since left the group. In November, he called and told me that his brother just announced that he was getting married on December 3rd. He had met his wife on eHarmony! After meeting his parents on Thanksgiving day, he took me by surprise. As we were driving down the road, he very nonchalantly said, "You know, we need to go ring shopping." I think I was too surprised to say anything more than "Okay." We told his family after his brother's wedding and I received my ring on December 9th.
John and I were married on September 16th, 2006. One of the things I find remarkable is the response I get from other people when I say that we met on eHarmony. Many people either have someone in their family or someone they know who has met their significant other on eHarmony. Last summer, a teacher I work with shared with me that he is getting married next year. Funny thing - he also knew the person he is marrying before he signed up for eHarmony, but they had never really talked to each other, much the same as John and I. We both have the beauty of partners who look at issues, talk things through, and create solutions. Way to go on the compatibility test eHarmony!
Last summer, as we were planning what to do for our first anniversary, John got bacterial pneumonia. It abscessed and the doctors had to do emergency surgery. Through his illness and recovery, we found just how amazing the connection between us truly was. We were able to find ways to communicate with each other, even though he was on a respirator. He is just now being released from doctors, 9 months later. eHarmony truly matched us in all the most important ways.
