Sara-Elizabeth and Joshua
I had just about given up on finding someone I could marry. I was starting to believe that finding “the one” was something that only happened to other people. Then I found eHarmony, and Joshua changed all that. One of my brothers had encouraged another brother and me to use eHarmony. I was wary of internet services, but we both tried it. I was on eHarmony for one month and nothing happened. As usual, I gave up. My brother, on the other hand, did not. Three years later, he is married to my beautiful sister-in-law and I have the most precious nephew. After they got engaged, my other brother started to tell me again that I should give eHarmony another try. Finally, just to get him to stop nagging me about it, I bought a three-month membership. Then, I was matched with Joshua. The only problem was that he lived 1500 miles away. Still, in this day of free long distance and discount plane tickets, it is amazing how a long-distance relationship can be successful. As we exchanged information, pictures, emails, and then phone calls, I thought, “You know, I think I could fall in love with this man.” And fall in love I did. I had asked Joshua every deep question, all the things that meant so much to me, and I knew that any man who wasn’t serious would have panicked and run the other direction. Within a couple of months, I knew that this was the man I would marry. We were engaged on August 5, 2006, on a mountaintop in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with this wonderful man.
