Juliet and Anthony
Anthony and I were matched on eHarmony in February 2007, about a week before my membership was set to expire. After a couple of days of communication through eHarmony, we started talking on the phone, 5-8 hours per day! Disappointedly, in one of our first phone conversations, Anthony informed me that he lived in Ann Arbor, MI (I lived in Providence, RI and his profile stated he was from New London, CT) and that he wasn't going to be moving to the area for a few months. With a little reluctance, I decided to continue to get to know Anthony. I knew immediately that what we had was something special. I never considered myself a great communicator yet there was something about him and the way we interacted that made us communicate freely. I was able to relax and be myself when I was on the phone with him. I was quickly falling in love with someone who I hadn’t even met.
A couple weeks after we started communicating, Anthony came to visit for 11 days. I met him one Thursday afternoon at the airport. It was one of the most exciting yet nerve-racking days of my life. That visit confirmed my feelings for him and the fact that I never wanted him to leave me. Unfortunately, he had to return to Michigan 11 days later.
We continued our long distance relationship for 3 more months. I met his family at Easter and he visited me for a couple of extended visits. The majority of our relationship consisted of deep personal phone conversations that lasted into the early morning hours. Memorial Day weekend 2007 Anthony permanently moved to Rhode Island and, except for a few short business trips, we have never been apart since then. About a month after he moved here, he was introduced to most my family in Virginia and Maine and they immediately loved and respected him as much as I did. They thought we were a great match.
November 17, 2008 Anthony proposed to me after recreating our first date together and of course I said, “yes."
June 28, 2008 we were married in a small ceremony where only parents, siblings, their families, and a few close friends were invited. We feel very blessed to have met, continue to communicate openly, and owe everything to eHarmony. Thank you for bringing us together!
