Tracy and Stuart
So THIS is what it’s supposed to be like! That is the thought that has come to mind most often since I met the love of my life on eHarmony. I had gotten to a point in life where I hoped, but didn’t really believe that it could be like the stories I had read. And now we have our own fairy tale to tell! Stuart and I were matched in November 2004. One of the questions I asked him was, “What are 10 things you want to do, see or accomplish in your life?” Amazingly, several of our answers were the same, including the fact that we both wanted to visit Bora Bora. He had been to Iraq with the Army, and he told me later that he kept a picture of the island he had taken from a travel magazine with him, and promised himself that if he made it home from the war, he would go there someday. Within one or two emails, he asked me to go on a date with him to see the show “Stomp.” Of course I said yes! We emailed back and forth for a couple of weeks before the show, but until I met him at dinner I had never even heard his voice. Even so, I felt that I had known him for years. I arrived at the restaurant early, and still remember the first time I saw him. The host showed him to the table, and he walked up and asked me if he could give me a hug and it was the best hug I’ve ever had. I literally fell for him that first night! With him I felt a connection like I never have before, and at the end of the date I was hoping that it wasn’t just my imagination.
On our next date, we got caught in an ice storm, nearly sliding off the road as he drove me home. He kissed me for the first time when he walked me to my door and even though it was cold out, sparks flew! Our adventures continued when he was offered a job in Washington, DC just 3 months after we met. We had been discussing the future, so we decided to spend as much time as possible making sure before he moved, and we even went to premarital counseling during that time. The sessions and personality tests we took were very in-depth, and confirmed what eHarmony had already told us, that while not perfect people, we compliment each other perfectly! The next year was spent with me flying most weekends to visit him in DC, and each visit made me that much more sure that he was the one I had been looking for my whole life. He proposed on a moonlit night, on the rooftop of a building looking out over the White House and all of Washington while he played “our song” on the CD player he brought. We were married 3 months later, on June 10, 2006, and our honeymoon in Bora Bora was incredible! We tell everyone that joining eHarmony changed both of our lives, in ways we never would have imagined. I never thought I could meet such an amazing man on the internet, but God can use anything to bring people together. Thank you, eHarmony and Dr. Warren, for helping us find each other and for making all of our dreams come true!
Just wanted to give you another update...after much prompting by my husband and I, a very dear friend joined eHarmony (every time we would talk on the phone, we would chant 'eHarmony! eHarmony! eHarmony!'). He proposed to his now-fiancé on 7/7/07!
Thanks for the joy and happiness eHarmony has brought to us all.
