Cally and Graham
We instantly starting exchanging questions, and within a week I think I made the first phone call to him. I never had any intentions in the beginning of pursuing him, as we quickly realized we we're 830 miles apart! But the more we talked we soon realized we had so much in common and really wanted to meet one another. As it turned out, I liked his Sister's answers but ironically we found out he was younger than I thought. They had made a mistake on his Birthday, which we laugh about alot now!
So, Graham left Northern Wisconsin and I left Rapid City, SD and we had our first date in Mitchell, SD. It was a fun weekend filled with laughter, good food, drinks and your typical first date stuff, like a movie and hitting the pool hall. We met shortly after Valentine's Day, and when I arrived he had my favorite Wine and some beautiful glitter dipped Roses waiting. It was very nice to talk in person after talking on the phone for a month.
At the end of the weekend I just wasn't sure it would work. We we're so far apart and I wasn't sure "he was the one". Throughout the next year we both went on with our lives and stayed in touch, but love wasn't meant to be for us.
Finally, I contacted him again in the Spring of 2012, and apologized for pushing him away, I had passed judgements based on the first date and his unusual layed back, happy personality. Well, from that text there was no stopping us. Graham was very persistant that I was the right woman and once again we made plans to meet. Over the next few months we had those serious talks about where we had made mistakes, what goals and dreams we both had and finally, which one of us would have to relocate.
I drove up to Northern Wisconsin in the summer of 2012, and fell in love with his Family, the Northwoods and him. It's so peaceful up here, and there is water everywhere you look. We had dinner on the pontoon, took the nieces and nephews tubing, rode 4 wheelers and spent the evenings visiting with Friends & Family. It was an amazing weekend, and before I had to go home, he asked me to move up here and be his partner in every way.
In August of 2012 I left my awesome career with Cabelas and moved to Wisconsin. Now instead of selling the outdoor adventure, I would get to live it everyday. There were several sacrifices to make, I left my Family and Friends behind, but I knew I had a true love waiting for me, someone who believed in me and valued this new love we had both found. I knew he was the one when he said I didn't have to be perfect, and he didn't care about past mistakes, he just knew that I was who he wanted by his side from now on. We we're both at the right place at the same time in our lives you could say.
On the night of my birthday, Graham proposed on the local corner city sign, he and his Dad had it lit up with Christmas lights, and the word's, "Will you marry me Cally"! It was a wonderful night that we shared with his Family.
So, here we are. We have expanded our Family already, we got a Saint Bernard puppy in October, Kodiak, who has brought us alot of joy! We are busy re-modeling his "Bachelor Pad" and now planning the wedding on Plum Lake for this Summer.
