Vanessa and Gregg
I was finally talked into joining eHarmony on Mar 24, 2006 by my oldest daughter, Nicole. My husband had passed away three years prior and this specific day would have been my husband's 47th birthday. After much encouragement by my daughter to join eHarmony I had decided that I wanted to give my deceased husband and myself a gift of being able to move on with my life. I was getting ready to graduate Nursing school at the age of 44 and had a bright future ahead of me, but I was alone. Gregg was one of the first matches that I received from eHarmony. My daughter came over and picked him out for me to contact. A process that I found very difficult to do alone.
Gregg and I started corresponding on eHarmony on Mar 26, 2006. We corresponded for about three weeks before I would agree to meet in person with him. He sounded like a good and honest person, but I was very hesitant to meet in person. I hadn't dated in over 25 years. Our meeting at a coffee shop was an instant connection. I found myself instantly attracted and comfortable. Gregg too says he felt the same. During our email correspondence we had actually found out that we shared the same birthday. Nov 09, 1961. What really blew me away was the fact he was also telling me that he too was born at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on that date. I hate to say that I was extremely skeptical, but I was, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So, at that first meeting I asked to see his driver's license to verify that we indeed shared the same birthday. We then knew that we had also shared the same nursery together 44 years prior and now here we were together again. The day that I had signed up for eHarmony I had asked my deceased husband to send me someone very special. I now truly believed that our match was more than just a coincidence. Life works in mysterious ways some times, but I had the faith in believing it was meant to be.
Gregg and I dated a year and a half before becoming engaged. He proposed very surprisingly and romantically on a cruise ship on the balcony overlooking the ocean. It was so hard to believe that I had been blessed twice in my life. My match to Gregg gave me new hope of a wonderful life just as equal to the one that I had shared before. We got married October 18, 2008. A wonderful wedding and a wonderful new beginning for us both. We are so very grateful to eHarmony for putting us together.
