Amanda and Terrance
There are moments in life when you know you’ve met someone that will change how you look at the world forever.
I was matched with Terry on Valentine’s Day. He was my very first match on eHarmony. So almost a month later on March 20th, after using the Guided Communication and then venturing into emails and phone conversations, I agreed to go on our first date. With this being my first eHarmony match, I was nervous to meet Terry. So nervous in fact, that I arrived at his house a half an hour early and had to drive around the block and park the car.
Our first date lasted eleven hours. We drove to the ocean, which is about an hour from where we live. During the entire drive there and back, our conversation was non-stop. We went to a town called Newport, OR, and toured the Waxwork, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and the Undersea Gardens, had a clam chowder lunch at a little diner and shared a table with another couple, and drank hot chocolate while watching the stormy ocean. Terry even took me to a cheesy horror movie that I laughed all the way through. I remember he drove really slow going back home.
When I arrived home that night, I looked at my mother and said, “Mom, I met the man I’m going to marry today. In six to nine months he’s going to propose to me.” Nine months and five days later on Christmas morning, I found my engagement ring in my Christmas stocking. Of course, I said, “Yes!” On September 10, 2006, we flew to Las Vegas and were married.
Thank you eHarmony for giving me the opportunity to meet my destiny and my best friend. I have learned so much from Terry about life and love. He completes me and keeps me at peace with all of life's little quirks. He makes me laugh, finishes my sentences, knows the best and the worst of me and still loves me unconditionally.
