After years of looking for Mr. Right with no success I decided to join eHarmony figuring I had nothing to lose.  A couple of friends kept telling me I should, so after recently celebrating my 24th birthday I finally gave in.  I was about to move back home to Ohio and I really did not think I would find anyone on eHarmony with my same set of values, but I was about to be surprised.  Within a couple of days of joining, a match was delivered that looked intriguing.  We quickly went through the levels of communication and were soon emailing long messages back and forth.  After about 3.5 weeks of some great conversations online and on the phone we decided to meet.  Our first date was so comfortable because we already knew so much about each other.  We had a private pottery lesson where we laughed at our lack of artistic ability, went to an art museum nestled on a hill overlooking the city, and then had dinner on the river.  After dinner we sat on a bench overlooking the river as the sun set and talked for hours; it was beautiful and perfect. 

On our second date, I went to Ben’s city, Indianapolis, where he had strategically placed three different roses.  The first was white, which indicated that his intentions were pure.  (My parents jokingly said later that he should have given that flower to them).  I received the second rose after dinner, which was yellow meaning that he wanted our relationship to be founded on a solid friendship.  All those long emails and conversations over eHarmony had already been helping us build that.  The last rose was pink for admiration. 

After a summer full of memories, Ben proposed on September 6, 2008 during a picnic lunch on a canal riverbank.  I had told Ben that I wanted to be surprised because most women can tell when men were going to propose because they act nervous.  We had talked about getting engaged in the late fall, so I was definitely surprised when he popped the question in September.  Ben is everything I ever wanted in a husband.  Now we are excitedly planning our wedding for June 13th, 2009!
