After completing medical school, I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to begin my surgical residency. After a grueling intern year, I realized I was sick of being alone. I joined e-Harmony and the first person I was matched with and advanced to email communication was John.  We met, we fell in love, and nearly 2 years later, we are now planning a wedding! 

Getting to that point was not easy, however.  Only 6 months into our relationship, John was diagnosed with cancer.  "Fight or flight" did not apply to us.  We fought together.  As he started chemotherapy, I started training for a marathon to raise money for research.  6 months of treatment and 26 miles of pavement later, John is in remission and we finally have a reason to celebrate.  We are certain we would not have found each other without eHarmony and we truly believe we are better people for it.  You never know what life is about to throw at you, but it is always better to have someone to go through it with you.
