We met six months ago on eHarmony. It was the last month for Chris on the site and the first for Janine. Chris had been on the site for years, dated many girls but hadn’t found “the one”. He had decided to leave the site and was just using what was left on his membership when he was matched with Janine. She had just joined the site when she saw Chris’ profile, we believe it was fate. We communicated a few weeks online, then spoke on the phone and finally met in person. On our first meeting that was instant chemistry, and we spoke about our goals for marriage and family right then.

On August 9 we took a trip to Las Vegas, and while we were getting ready for dinner, Chris called her father and asked for Janine’s hand in marriage, in her native language of Portuguese. After the father said yes or “sim”, and was still on speakerphone, Chris asked Janine to marry him, also in Portuguese, she answered yes. Janine had always wanted someone who would value their cultural differences and embrace them, and Chris had just proven that with his proposal!
