Mike and Julie
Our eHarmony story began on April 14th, 2010 when Julie’s profile became available for me as a possible match. Of course her picture caught my attention. I thought she was very attractive and I wanted to learn more about her. I spent some time reviewing Julie’s profile and her pictures. I noticed that she had a picture of her dog there as well. I was thinking, what kind of a person uploads a picture of her dog? A dog lover would!
After reading her profile and looking at pictures of her and her dog I thought I should get to know her more. I did notice that she lived more than an hour’s drive away from me. Normally I thought that the distance would be too far and it would be difficult to have any sort of a relationship.
However, her picture, her dog’s picture and her profile helped me overlook the distance and give it chance to potentially start communicating.
After going through the questions in just a few hours we were e-mailing outside of eHarmony. Later that day I emailed her a picture of my new puppy who was just a few months old at the time. She loved the picture of the puppy. After several pictures of our dogs back and forth we started talking the very next day.
It seemed we had an enormous amount of things in common. Our love for animals was the segway into getting to know each other. Our first conversation was the next day. Each night after, we talked for hours and some till the dawn of the next day. We did not have any sense of time.
We met for the very first time on April 18th 2010. Our eyes locked on each other for the first time. It was our very own fairy tale, love at first sight. On October 5th 2010 we were married under the stars in a private romantic wedding pool side.
We thought of an idea for eHarmony, an idea that maybe not too many people would think of. Our dogs also found a new best friend. Maybe for your next marketing campaign you could show that not only do people fall in love but their animals find a new family as well. In your next commercial, our dogs should be the stars as they have been “matched” by their owner’s personality profile.
