Julie and I had both spent several months on eHarmony, without any real success. Both of us had met a few people, but none of them were "the one".  With only a few days left in both of our memberships, we were matched.

After a couple weeks of talking on the phone for hours at a time, we decided to meet.  I just happened to be in her town for a business meeting, so I decided to ask her to dinner.  From there we continued talking, never missing a day since then.

Soon after weekend trips between her town and mine became a regular occurrence, only missing one or two weekends in six months.  The more I got to know her, the more I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. 

I asked her to marry me on April 24th and after a pause (that seemed like an eternity), she said yes, and made me the happiest man alive. 

I caught her completely off guard, because the following day was a graduation party for me that she had been planning for weeks, so it never crossed her mind that I would propose that weekend.  I even got her dad to help me keep it a secret.
