Daniel and Karen
I wanted to let you know that your matching system at eHarmony really works. I did not know what to expect since I had been divorced and raising my son since the second grade without dating. He will be a freshman in high school starting this fall. So it had basically been just me and my son. I really did not have any time to date or even consider dating for several years because as you can imagine there was a lot involved in terms of just raising my son and working. However, I decided to take a chance and joined eHarmony.
I went through your extensive questionnaire and after answering all the questions I waited to see what would happen. I wanted my profile to reflect how important my son was to me to anyone who read my profile. At first I felt kind of awkward because it had been so long since I had interacted with anyone in terms of trying to develop a personal relationship. I was already 51 years old at the time I joined eHarmony.
Karen and I went through guided communication and open communication. Karen was the only one that I ever went through open communication with that I felt truly at ease in terms of expressing myself. Yet at the same time not only realizing how very nice a person that Karen was in addition to being very beautiful I thought to myself that her options were endless. I am basically just a “nice” guy without a lot of flash as they say. I had always wanted to meet someone during my lifetime who would just want to be with me for the person that I am. I did not think that this would ever happen. Yet Karen and I met for the first time. When we were sitting eating dinner together for the first time I could sense that there was something special. I was not sure if Karen felt the same way. We started seeing each other on the weekends and I could not believe how wonderful a person Karen was. Karen put me in a different place and she subsequently told me that she loved me for the person that I was. I told Karen and I loved her and felt the same way about her. In other words I finally met someone who loved me just for myself.
Karen and I continued dating and we were married at the Kenosha County Courthouse in Wisconsin on July 31, 2008. I have never been happier. Karen is nice, kind, has an open mind, and is a very special once-in-a-lifetime person. Karen is also a wonderful step mom for my son. They really get along well and I am very happy for my son because Karen will also provide my son with love and support and guidance. I have seen your television commercial with a younger couple who were matched in 2006 and subsequently married and I really understand and can relate to the part of the advertisement where he says that she loves me for who I am. In other words you can just be yourself and have someone love you which is a truly amazing experience. That is exactly what has happened for both Karen and me. This would not have occurred without your matching system on eHarmony. So although there may be skeptics out there Karen and I are proof that eHarmony really works and that someone's life can be changed for the better by meeting a person you are truly compatible with.
