I decided to go back to eHarmony and still felt like "it" would never happen. I was the Maid of Honor in my friend's wedding and my daughter the flower girl. That night, in October 2009, I went to my computer and looked at matches. I saw Jacob and his profile stuck out. It is as if his words were speaking to me. I sent him communication, when usually I waited for them to communicate with me. He answered my back and we went through all of the questions in one day.

We started emailing back and forth the next day and I could not wait to check my messages. It felt like Christmas morning! Our emails were phenomenal. I knew I met someone special. We talked on the phone during the week and the following Saturday we met. Our first date was 10 hours long!!!! I did not want him to go. We hit it off instantly.

The next day he wanted to see me again. I invited him over and he met my daughter. No one ever met her but for some reason I felt compelled to introduce them even though he and I just met. He showed up with a jack-o-lantern filled with treats for her and a movie I mentioned I wanted. The following weekend he went to a Halloween party with us and trick-or-treating. As I had explained to anyone before him, I have my daughter 24/7 and do not get "dad" weekends. Whomever I date must love kids, kid events, and not expect me to be able to just hop in a car and go all of the time. That never fazed him.

I was looking for someone who did not want to go to the bars and someone who was smart and a Christian. I went to school for many years and wanted someone who valued it as well. I wanted someone who would go to church with me every weekend and would not mind chilling at home, cooking dinner and sipping on wine. I was not looking for a party animal. Jacob was that person. I knew the first week we met we were going to be married. When they say, "you just know," you really do.

He is the man I have always wanted. He is the man that makes me complete and I get so excited to see him every single day. He is adopting my daughter and she runs to him calling him daddy and my heart melts. He is a wonderful man and a wonderful father. I am so grateful that eHarmony brought us together.
