Avril and I were matched on December 25, 2007 during the "free communication weekend". I had joined eHarmony after reading one of Dr. NCW's books, and had been a paying member of eHarmony for a while. I had met, I think, 2 other girls on eHarmony, both who were great and were fun to spend time with (great compatibility), but Avril's profile caught my attention unlike any other I had seen.

We started communicating that weekend, and discovered lots of common interests, as well as similar personality traits, shared faith, etc. By the end of the weekend, we had exchanged email addresses and continued to communicate via email for the next month or so. We eventually progressed to chatting via phone, and then we finally met. Things "clicked" pretty instantly. We spoke over coffee and biscotti about our families, music (we're both music teachers), and some of our goals.

Over the next few months, we began to spend more time together. One of the main differences between this relationship and those I've experienced in the past is the compatibility here. Avril and I have had a few scuffles, and we know that marriage will not always be easy, but it does make things so much smoother because so many of our core traits align with each other. We each bring contrasting things to the table, but we truly are "compatible."
