We were both in our mid-30s and weren't finding our soul mates and it wasn't looking too promising for either of us.  Calvin was living in a very small town with few dating prospects and I was living in a large city but felt hopeless about the dating scene.  We both felt we were ready for marriage...we just needed to find our other halves.

The moment I saw him in my matches I was intrigued.  As we began communicating, I realized he fit my picture of the ideal man.  He was smart, good looking and funny.  We talked on the phone daily until the wee hours of the night, learning about each other.  Our likes and dislikes, personalities and attitudes were more compatible than any relationship I'd been in before.  When I finally met him in person, everything was just right.  I couldn't get him out of my mind.  I'd never felt so truly connected with anyone. 

We dated long distance (a 6-hour drive) for a year before I moved to his small town.  A year later we became engaged and just over a year after the engagement we had our dream wedding with an idyllic Italian honeymoon.  We just celebrated our 1-year anniversary and can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!
