I just thought I’d let eHarmony know that Cathy and I were engaged in August of 2007 and were married last year. Then came a dog, and even better, we’re expecting a boy in October! We were introduced through eHarmony in August of 2004.

I can’t say enough about eHarmony, and for so many reasons. First and foremost, Cathy and I, although we lived 5.2 miles apart, would NEVER have met if it weren’t for eHarmony. Neither one of us used any other online dating service for the same, exact reason-- because we were serious about finding a lifelong partner. To be honest, I initially chose eHarmony because of its reputation for finding compatible matches, and because it was relatively “expensive” in terms of the effort required. I figured the level of commitment required would weed out the “riff raff”, and I was right. Cathy made the same decision for the same reasons.

Nearly as important, however, are the ancillary benefits of going through the eHarmony process. The eHarmony process forces rigorous, relentless introspection, and I don’t think anyone goes through the eHarmony process without gaining a better understanding of themselves and of the values they purport to exude. It’s like I tell my son – being a good father has made me a better man, because I am forced to learn again many of life’s most important lessons. The eHarmony process had similar benefits for me.

Also, the other matches with whom I went on dates were all extraordinary people. I’ve turned a lot of friends onto eHarmony and I’ve told many of them that I didn’t regret a single date. Most of them ended with a handshake and a sincere appreciation for each other and the fact that eHarmony facilitated the introduction.

Anyway, eHarmony worked beautifully for us, thank you. From my perspective, I can’t imagine a more perfect woman for me and my son, our puppy, and soon our own child.
