Ed and Peggy

Location: Englewood, CO
Married: December 24th, 2007

We were matched on eHarmony just as I was leaving for a 4 month consulting assignment 10,000 miles away. By the time we reached open communication, I was already at my foreign destination. We emailed and talked on the phone for four months before we met in person. As it turns out, she worked 1 block away from where I live but we had never met.

We dated for 16 additional months upon my return and got married. I am 50 and she is 51. We both never thought we would find someone. But, we did. The key was communication and focusing on our core values. From the time we met, we began talking about our core values which helped us understand what was important to each of us. We decided there was a match and everything else was less important. I have two children (17 and 19) from a previous marriage. I was divorced for 10 years. She did not have any children. We took the two of us and my two children for a helicopter wedding. The helicopter took off from Las Vegas airport, over the Hoover Dam, through the Grand Canyon and landed in the Valley of Fire State Park, which is located in Nevada. We had the ceremony there on top of a bright red butte which is 3,000 feet in the air. It was a memorable experience. We would not have met without eHarmony, even though we lived / worked across the street from each other.
