We started corresponding on the computer. He was a widower of 2.5 years and I was a widow of just less than one year. We were looking for companionship and "playmates" - neither of us looking for a "romantic" relationship. After a few weeks of correspondence, I was at the Seattle Airport USO using a bad keyboard, so I decided to call Perry. That was the first time we had talked on the phone. During my month long trip, we continued to correspond on the computer and once in awhile by the phone. Our phone conversations became more frequent after I returned home.

I learned that he lived in Oklahoma and had a winter home in south Texas, going through my town to and from Oklahoma. I also learned that Perry's sister-in-law lived in my town. We planned to see each other several times a year and enjoy each other's company. By the time we finally met face-to-face, we had been talking for better than a month, on the phone each night, three to four hours a night! At our age (70's) we shake our heads wondering what on earth we had to talk about for that long.

We are still talking!!!!

For me, the most unusual thing about this is that I have never been attracted to men with facial hair (Perry has a beard and mustache) and-- I have NEVER been, even remotely, interested in taking an open water cruise. - We have just returned from a five week, Atlantic crossing/Italy tour.
