When looking for a new dating alternative to meeting guys in bars, I signed up for eHarmony. After being on eHarmony for a few weeks and having been on a couple unsuccessful dates, I was about to give up. Dave “nudged” me to continue communication with him. I wrote him back and so began our relationship. We started off with a coffee date…even though neither of us drinks coffee! Dave then went out of town for a couple weeks for work but we continued to communicate via email and instant messages. When he got back home we went out to dinner. After that dinner, we stared to see each other more regularly. Walks around the lake with my dog, lunches, dinners and hockey games helped us to get to know each other even better. Before we knew it, we were inseparable.

A couple weeks into dating Dave, I called my best friend Allison to catch up. I told her that I had a date that night and she said she did, too. I asked her about her date and she described him and told me where they were going. I asked her where she met him and she paused for what felt like 2 minutes and then finally told me that she met him online…at eHarmony. I started to laugh because she didn’t know that I had signed up for eHarmony and was going on a date with a guy that I also found online. We were both reluctant to tell the other that we had gone to eHarmony, but later decided that if we could find someone that made us that happy- we didn’t care who knew how it happened. Today, we are both engaged and helping each other plan the weddings.
