David and I were matched on January 9th, 2007. After graduating to open communication within a couple days we had our first phone conversation of two and a half hours. We decided to meet after a week of phone conversations. January 20th we met for the first time for lunch at a local diner on a rainy, Texas, winter afternoon. David brought me pink daisies and treated me like such a lady. After lunch we went for coffee at a local coffee shop and talked for 4 hours. From that first meeting and maybe even before that, I knew that David was going to be a major person in my life. After several more weekends of back and forth long distance dating (2 hours apart) David showed up at my house on Valentine's evening as a surprise. My dad was visiting me in Texas during that time, and that evening, without me knowing it he talked to my dad and told him that he wanted to buy a ring and propose to me, and asked for his blessing before doing so. The next weekend (February 17th) I drove up to see David and cook him dinner and he came home from a day of "fire department training" with a ring and proposed to me on bended knee in the kitchen of his apartment. I accepted and we were married.

We recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary in June of 2008 and we could not be happier. One of the things that I love about our relationship the most is that we have the same values and opinions about the roles that we each play within our marriage. We are absolutely a team in everything that we do. We're starting a business and looking forward to being partners in yet another area of our lives. We had lived less than 100 miles apart for 2 years... I had driven through the town David lived in at least a dozen times and we would have never met if it hadn't been for eHarmony.
