I decided to try eharmony because I have a close family friend who's eHarmony relationship ended in marriage, otherwise I may not have. I found someone fairly quicky, but it ended unsuccessfully. After a few months I decided to give it another try. I reactivated a couple weeks before Christmas 2011.
It's difficult capturing a persons true essence from a single page of information, but there was something intriguing about Ray's request to skip guided communication and go straight to email, He was the first to be so bold! I admired his confidence, and it made him seem more real. So as I sat in the airport on new years eve morning, I responded.
Its now 6 months later. Ray lives in Chicago, and I am in Texas. We are both 25, have good jobs, and have so much in common. We have both traveled to visit other, and have loved everything about everything, to include families and friends. We are SO excited for what the future holds for us. We often hear that its ridiculous how much we are compatible as well as alike. I can say I have never met or dated someone with whom it is so easy to communicate with, on so many different levels. We are currently dating, and are working towards my relocating to Chicago within the next few months. I really couldn't be happier!
We often wonder if our paths would have crossed without eHarmony, and our answer is usually, "perhaps." But maybe five, ten years later? after other failed relationships? We figure, in order for two people across the nation to meet, they just have to find a common venue. Whether it be college, work, a vacation.....
For us, it was eHarmony. :)Update: We are happy to announce that after starting communication on eHarmony New Years Eve of 2011, we are engaged to be married! I moved from Texas to Chicago to be closer to Ray last August, and our relationship has just blossomed and grown ever since. Ray is more than I could have hoped for in a man and as my Fiance. We were engaged a few weeks ago on Feb. 8th, 2013, and we plan to have our wedding next May 2014. Our families are ecstatic!
