Trent and Dawn

We were matched in October 2009. Dawn lived in Washington State and Trent lived in Arizona. We worked our way through the online process and had our first phone conversation November 2009. We spoke periodically on the phone. By January 2010 the conversations began to happen nightly for at least an hour or so. We had our first meeting in Las Vegas in March. Dawn was on Spring Break from teaching and was meeting girlfriends for a few days. She asked me if I wanted to meet her in Vegas for the last couple days of her Spring Break.

Upon returning to our respective homes, we continued to talk on the phone and make plans for the future. We came to the realization that we needed to make sure we could get along for long periods of time in one another's presence. For her summer off from teaching, we decided she would move to Phoenix. We got to know each other very well over the 5 weeks while also touring the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Hoover Dam and once again Las Vegas. We felt as though to make it work we wanted to jump in with both feet.

Trent came up to Washington to visit for two weeks after Dawn returned to Washington. Over the course of the next 9 months, we met each other's families, hometowns and traveled back and forth to see one another.

February 19th, 2011, unbeknownst to Dawn, Trent proposed at Crescent Moon Ranch in Sedona, Arizona. We were married August 19th, 2011 where we reside.

Dawn's tips...

1. Have fun and don't take the process to seriously (at first). If you think of it as I'm going to see where this goes the outcome can be great. I believe my match with Trent was the one and only time I had this mindset and it worked out.
2. Some people I know have been on eHarmony a short time and met someone and others have been on and off it for years before they met someone...everyone is different.

Trent's tips:

1. You have to go in with an open-mind and an open heart.
2. If there are certain topics you feel strongly about, make sure you discuss this in the beginning...even on the phone.
