Long Distance

Jennifer and Chris

Lewistown, MT

Chris and I were matched in October of 2006.  He lived in Montana and I lived in Arizona.  I had originally kept my preferences of men I wanted to meet just in Arizona.  One night I looked at the map and decided to open up my preferences.  So I looked at the map and looked at all the places that I would like to live or knew someone that lived there.   A month or two later Chris popped up as a match.

We went through each of the stages in just a few days.   Then after talking via email for awhile we decided it was time to talk on the phone.  The first phone call was 5 hours long.  We just clicked!  We spent the next few months talking on the phone.  We decided it was time to meet so he agreed to come to Phoenix to meet me.  We were both very nervous.  He was going to come for New Year’s weekend.   Unfortunately he got snowed in, in Montana and could not come that weekend.  So we tried again in February.   He actually made it to Phoenix this time.

I picked him up at the airport and of course traffic getting there at the airport was awful so he really just jumped into the car and off we went.  We went downtown and sat in a restaurant to talk face to face.  We then went to a George Strait Concert.  It felt like we had already known each other so well even though it was the first time we had met face to face.

Chris flew out to Phoenix a few more times and I visited Montana as well.    Neither one of us had ever been in a long distance relationship so we did not have any preconceived notions of what was “supposed” to happen.   In the summer of 2007 Chris came to Disneyland with me and my 5 year old son Logan.  We had a great time!  We also had really started talking about taking this relationship to the next level.   In October 2007, Chris visited Arizona again and this time he brought a ring and proposed.  We talked about what we were going to do and who was going to move, Chris owned a family business in Montana so it was really hard for him to pack up and head for Arizona.  I am a speech/language Pathologist and I knew it would be easier for me to find a job in Montana.    So as word got out that we were engaged everyone was so excited especially that we were moving to Montana.  We were married in Red Lodge, Montana on August 9, 2008.  Now we are expecting another addition to our family on November 7, 2009.
