We were matched while I was living in Canada and James was deployed in Iraq. We connected so well and continued to keep communicating. By December 2007 we decided to meet on his R&R from Iraq. I flew down to his home town where his parents were residing. I waited to meet him for the first time when he got off the plane, Christmas Eve, coming from Iraq. It was the most amazing experience that we both have ever had.

We spent the next 18 days with one another. We had to say goodbye to each other when he had to go back to Iraq. I went back to Canada and waited for him there. For the next 8 months we communicated as much as we could, through computer and the phone. After the long wait, he was finished his tour in Iraq and he was able to come home. I was there waiting for him when he got off the plane coming home from Iraq. He was stationed in Germany so we spent a couple months touring Europe and planning the wedding. He came back to Canada with me and met my family.

We then celebrated our marriage in Poulsbo, WA with all of our friends and family. We still live in NC until his time is up in the army. Meeting each other has been the most blessed and wonderful thing that has happened to us both.
