Doug and I started talking on the phone prior to meeting in person.  We met about a month after we began talking through eHarmony.  Doug lives in Sag Harbor, NY and I live in Mystic, CT. From door to door, we are 2 hours apart.  On our first date, Doug came over on the ferry to meet me in my home town.  I picked him up at the ferry and we went to the Mystic Aquarium.  As soon as he got off the ferry, I knew there was something different about him.  We seemed to click right away.  We spent 10 hours together that first date and it seemed like one.  In fact, we had so much fun, he almost missed the ferry back to Long Island. 

The next weekend, I took the ferry over to Long Island.  To my surprise, not only was there one ferry to get to Long Island, but another two smaller ferries to get to Sag Harbor, NY.  However, that didn't seem to matter.  There was a special connection between us, one like never before.  We have been dating ever since and have never missed a weekend since our first date on May 13th 2007.  We just purchased a house in Sag Harbor, NY and I will be moving there in June. 

We are calling our romance our "ferry tale," since one of us is always on the ferry.  I never imagined finding someone so special and connecting with someone on this level.  I am a big fan of eHarmony and have signed up many friends.  In fact, a few are dating people they met on eHarmony.
