In a whirlwind of e-mails, we discovered that not only were we from the same small town in Illinois, but that we had gone to the same middle school, were in eighth grade band together, and even went to the same church (my mother was even Jessica's Sunday school teacher).

As David and I continued to date, I learned that he attended several of my sorority functions at KU during our college years and yet somehow, our paths didn’t cross until recently. Furthermore, some of his longtime friends are business associates I know and work with in my profession and even one of them is a fellow colleague of mine!

The twist to our story is that about a month into dating we realized that we had known each other casually 5 years ago in a completely different State.
