Gene and I matched in August, but didn't start phone communication until September. We talked for 3 hours the first and second nights and had our first date the third night. It was the best first date I'd had in a long time. Now here's where it gets interesting... We live 0.8 miles from each other. We shop at the same places, get gas from the same station and have attended a number of concerts at the same time. We never met. Here's the clincher...we went to high school together! Gene is two years my senior, so we never had a class together, but we had some of the same teachers and know quite a few of the same people. He was even friends/neighbors with an ex-boyfriend of mine. We grew up in the same area, west St. Louis County. While these aren't characteristics that make or break a relationship, it sure helps to have similarities! As you can imagine, we are quite happy with eHarmony and are willing to share with others how we met. I love telling the story of "how we met". I think it's very sweet! Just thought you'd like to know!
