He was an active duty staff sergeant in the US Army and I was an active duty lieutenant in the US Air Force. We worked less than 5 miles away from each other on the same base.

 We had our first 2 dates on the same day, and we spoke everyday and saw each other at least 4 times a week. We both knew 2 weeks into the relationship that we were going to get married. We got engaged 5 months after we met and married 10 months after we met.

We are extremely well matched in temperament, life goals, interests, beliefs, and even down to little things like driving style. We love each other fervently and despite the normal struggles of any new relationship, we have maintained a level of communication that many couples don't even realize after 20 years of marriage.

We are excited and hopeful for the next 50+ years.
