Finding Love On-the-Go with eHarmony HD eHarmony® Reimagines Mobile Service, Launches New iPad® App Centered on Delivering Premium Dating Experience
Santa Monica, Calif. - September 19, 2011 - eHarmony, Inc. announces its next-generation mobile experience with eHarmony HD, an innovative experiential app for iPad, now available on the App Store. The eHarmony HD App provides a brand new user experience, with customized design and optimized user interface that departs from the desktop service. With more than 30 percent of singles registering through eHarmony's mobile platforms, eHarmony HD was built to offer a state-of-the-art experience for the growing number of singles accessing the service through mobile devices.
Optimized for iPad, the entire user experience is revamped from beginning to end to take advantage of the device's Multi-Touch functionality. The process of signing up for the service is built in a digital book format so the user can swipe or "leaf" through eHarmony's Relationship Questionnaire and Personality Profile like one does in a book. Registered users can similarly swipe through their news feed and match listings. Uploading photos is faster and easier through Facebook Connect where users can quickly import favorite pictures from their Facebook page. The app also provides a powerful photo slideshow experience, leveraging the clarity and detail of the iPad's screen to display full screen profile photos in high-resolution.
Users now have the ability to purchase a subscription with one touch through In-App Purchase, making sign-up quick and easy.
"The innovations brought to life in our eHarmony HD App for iPad transcend the realm of the tablet and offer an engaging experience, which adds new energy to our customers search for a successful long-term relationship," said Joseph Essas, eHarmony's Chief Technology Officer. "Consumers increasingly desire rich, full-featured online experiences delivered to them wherever they are - at home or on the go, and we're committed to fulfilling their expectations."
Specifically with a premium experience in mind, eHarmony HD offers an elegant interface which starkly contrasts to the stale search and browse experience associated with typical online dating services. The app was built not only to offer a pleasing aesthetic, but also bring an inspiring and engaging experience to the often daunting world of online dating.
Real Interactions, Real EmotionseHarmony HD's visual identity and user interface evoke warm and inviting experiences like cozy neighborhood coffee shops - the kind of places where couples go on their first dates. The app captures this essence through its color palette, fonts and a laid-back voice. Soothing earth tones greet visitors with handwritten fonts, creating the feeling of conversation. The palette of natural materials and handmade elements evoking parchment paper, bamboo, handwritten notes and handwritten script fonts is inspired by the feelings and emotions that come from meeting someone special.
Aiming to transcend a static, removed experience, eHarmony HD makes reference to real items throughout its design. App users will see images of Polaroid®-like photos, coffee cups and ink throughout. All of the items are found in a natural, comfortable environment designed to make visitors feel at home.
Key features of eHarmony HD include:
- One-touch in-app subscription through iTunes
- Full-size, high-definition photos
- Power photo slideshow experience
- Facebook Connect
- Ability to send and receive communication
- View matching updates
- Unique and pleasing customer interface
- Archive or close matches in bulk
