The goal of the marriage clock is to provide an estimate based on recent historical data of if and when you are likely to get married. The primary sources of data used to generate the Marriage Clock predictions are a sample of approximately 5,000 marriages that occured in the year ending August 2005; the number of marriages reported to the US Census Bureau by each US State in the year ending August 2005, and the total number of marriages occuring in the US reported by the US Census for the year ending August, 2005.
As an overview, the figure below shows the probability of a person having been married in the United States based on age and gender (females are shown in red) for the year ending August 2005.
