More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Working in the garden, cooking and eating healthy, fresh food. Cuddling with my animals. October. Reading and learning about something I don't know enough about. I know that's more than one ;)

I typically spend my leisure time

Sleep a little late, have some fresh fruit for breakfast and linger over a cup of coffee. Then spend a few hours planting things in the garden. Maybe a walk in the woods with the dogs. That night head out to a restaurant with one or more people and order multiple dishes to be shared tapas style.

The most influential person in my life has been

I know it is an overused clich´┐Ż but I want a best friend and a lover. I need someone who is open, kind, ridiculously intelligent, well mannered but perfectly at home with dirt on her hands and paint in her hair. Allergies to pets would be difficult to overcome as my home is filled with them. Dislike of animals is a deal-breaker. I think my only other deal-breaker would be a history of cheating. I never do it and I expect the same, it's just disrespectful.Open mindedness and intellectual curiosity are musts, willingness to try all sorts of foods is a definite plus. I'm looking for someone with a well developed sense of empathy.

The first thing people notice about me

I would guess either my slightly crooked smile, which is how you know when it's a genuine smile, or my eyes.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"100 Years of Solitude". I like to read this every couple of years, especially before bed because of the dreamlike state it induces. Also, the last two pages of the book are extraordinary literature, but you can only get the true concept of it by reading the entire book. Even though I have read it a dozen times, you cannot cheat with this book and skip to the end.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Having good parents
  2. not being allergic to animals
  3. The opportunity to be alive

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I can smell a fruit fly in my wine before I take a sip. Quite useful at times.

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Easy-Going, Intelligent, Thoughtful

A little more about me

Electric stove-tops make me sad. I do not have Teflon pans in my house. I begrudgingly use microwaves. I prefer red wine to white, mustard to ketchup, barefoot to shod, vegetables to flesh, hardwoods to carpet, dark beer to lager (although a cold Red Stripe on a hot day can approach the mystical). I love real fireplaces and consider gas logs a form of lying. I prefer women without makeup ? I really do, not everyone believes me. I love to ski and I love to scuba dive and I do not do nearly enough of either. I love to sleep with the windows open on cold nights under down comforters. I believe in science and evolution and the big bang.
