More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about my relationship with Jesus Christ. I am also passionate about my family, friends, and my two dogs. I'm a foodie in every sense of the word, and my happy place is when I'm cooking and feeding people!

I typically spend my leisure time

Cooking is at the top of my list, and I've even been called the black Martha Stewart! The kitchen is my therapy, my God-given gift, my happy place, my confidence booster. I enjoy dining out and spending time with friends. Being involved in my church is also important to me.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for an absolute best friend who is devoted. Devoted is such a board term but can mean so much - devoted to the Lord, his family, his friends, serving others, and hopefully someday--ME! I'm looking to date with a purpose. Communication, sacrifice, and forgiveness are essential in any relationship and can truly only come from the mercy and grace of Christ Jesus.

The first thing people notice about me

How task oriented and organized I am. I'm always thinking about how to get something done, and have a list or notebook for everything.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just finished a book called Eat with Joy. It was all about what God intends for food and how to eat with gratitude and Joy. Such a good book for a foodie who loves The Lord. I also completed A shepherds look at Psalms 23. I loved this book because my grandmother always walked around the house quoting Psalms 23:1. Reading this book and understanding the breakdown of the whole passage showed me how truly reliant we must be on Christ.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am thankful for my salvation and the the most important relationship in my life...with Jesus
  2. I am thankful for my family. I consider my friends family as well.
  3. I am thankful for a good meal, really good dessert and/or a really good cup of coffee.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Diversity is hugely important to me. I am the diversity practitioner at my job and try to absorb as much information about it as possible. I get fired up talking about diversity and inclusion and see the value in diverse perspectives in all areas of life.
