The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionate about many things: The Triune God, my family, journeying with others, story, music, creativity, life. There are many more things that I am passionate about, but these are some of the foundational passions.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love having time to try a new coffee shop, which also might allow me time to read a good book or write. I also enjoy exploring a new place, and just discovering the hidden alleys, shops and unique buildings. These are all improved with good company.
The most influential person in my life has been
Besides one who follows and is in relationship with Christ, I'm searching for one who isn't afraid to speak his mind, yet is willing to listen to others. A man who is emotionally aware and values authenticity, practicing that with those who surround him. Someone who has journeyed the hills and valley with Jesus (and man, there can be some hills and valleys). And yet, one who can enjoy a good laugh over the simple pleasures in life.
The first thing people notice about me
My red hair? My odd sense of humor? My unusual interest in coffee? A quick and ready opinion? I suspect these are "noticeable" in me.
The last book I read and enjoyed
My reading varies, so here are a few to give a greater picture of my reading interests:-My Name is Asher Lev, Chaim Potok (I appreciated the view into both the Hasidic culture, as well as getting inside the brain of an artist; beautifully written)-In the Name of Jesus, Henri Nouwen (One of my favorite authors, I appreciate the depth and wisdom he offers, with relatively few words; I needed the reminder of humility in leadership)-A Year of Biblical Womanhood, Rachel Held Evans (Evans is such an intelligent writer. I may not agree with every word she writes, but I appreciated her humor, research, and authenticity)
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Family & Friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Well, I often get mistaken for being much younger than I actually am. It can be a compliment, but when one is not taken as seriously based on a youthful appearance, that can be frustrating. I also wish people knew that while I am honored to journey with others as they process their relationship with God, that there is an equally witty and boisterous side to my personality. Oh, and I've recently discovered a love of using charts and graphs in my blog.

A little more about me
From my blog bio: Jen is a person. A lover of beauty. A red head. She graduated with a MA in Spiritual Formation from The Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot School of Theology & currently earns her bread by planning formational retreats for a local church, & offering spiritual direction. She is particularly interested in spiritual formation, retreat planning, & the journey of the single woman. She thoroughly enjoys engaging in beauty: the company of good friends, interesting films, flavorful meals, reading a book, exploring the wild blue yonder, listening to a podcast or music, & a rich cup of coffee.
