The one thing I am passionate about...
I love nature, in a spiritual, inspiring way. I don't need to climb the mountain, but I can respect its beauty!! I am passionate about fun and laughter, with a good dose of silliness thrown into the mix. I love being with groups of happy, positive people, meeting new people, learning from others. I am passionate about all of my students, past, present, and future! I want to know each of them deeply, learn what makes them tick as individuals, and nurture a relationship that will grow beyond the 9 months they are in my classroom. My lifelong friendships with students and their parents is one of the greatest joys of my life!
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy spending time with my friends, who are great! I am a certified aromatherapist, so I love using essential oils and creating therapeutic and energetic blends/products for myself, friends, and family. On a regular basis, I need time with my own thoughts; quiet time, recharging, regrouping, and getting centered. On the flip side, getting out and away from home and experiencing the sound, smell, and life of the ocean and/or trees (redwoods in particular) is also mentally and spiritually recharging for me.
The most influential person in my life has been
I am interested in meeting someone who is honest, grounded and happy in his own life. Someone who is kind, respectful, and non-judgemental of others, with an open heart and zest for fun! You should be comfortable in a crowd, socially confident, and enjoy people in general. But, when it's time for quiet, one-on-one time, the conversation would be easy, stimulating, and amusing... not necessarily all at the same time. You've GOT to have "buddy time" with those guys you've been friends with forever? Great! Go for it! I need that buddy time too, with my friends.
The first thing people notice about me
I have a very welcoming, approachable spirit. People feel comfortable with and around me.
The last book I read and enjoyed

A little more about me
Along with being an elementary school teacher and an aromatherapist, I also work in a wine tasting room as a wine pourer. I am truly enjoying this part-time job, that has expanded my knowledge of the wine-making process and industry. It is a pleasure meeting new people, welcoming them to our tasting room and making them feel at home, while introducing them to our amazing wines. I was the winemaker's 4th grade teacher, so I'm personally invested in promoting our fabulous wines!
