The one thing I am passionate about...
Happiness. I have found that I derive true satisfaction from watching others enjoy what I have helped create, regardless of whether that is a meal, a planned event, or just facilitating a conversation...I love to see those around me enjoying themselves. It warms me somehow. Traveling. I love to explore and sample local cultures. I like discovering the origins of names, places, people. I am passionate about doing things with the special person in my life. I love laughter and family times. I'm also passionate about kindness to others. I enjoy teaching patients about their bodies in relation to their diagnoses. We aren't given manuals...
I typically spend my leisure time
Reading, walking and dreaming of water sports/activities, and creating whatever suits me at the moment: photo albums, decor, a bike-wash for water play outside! I also like to visit the farmers markets, listen to music, practice photography, go to festivals... I'm pretty open to just about anything!
The most influential person in my life has been
the ability to be open. Life is too short to be trapped inside oneself. I am looking for someone who isn't afraid of feelings or sharing those feelings. That, to me, is how real intimacy is created. And true intimacy creates strong bonds. And isn't that the point?
The first thing people notice about me
I think it must be my smile or my height. I don't know... Maybe I'll start asking! You tell me... What did you notice first?
The last book I read and enjoyed
The divergent series- ok they were all audiobooks, but I spend a lot of time driving between patient's homes, so, I do what I can. Prior to that it was a novel by Maeve Binchy (can't recall the name), the girl on the train, and the nurse's story.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- The ability to continually learn from myself and others.
- My children/family
- TED talks!
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am a very technically creative thinker. What's that? Well, I can usually solve a tricky problem with a rather clever solution. ?
