More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about my family, specifically my mom, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. Since his birth two years ago, participating in my nephew's life has been the biggest joy in my life.I also love my job (baking), nurturing people, and the band X.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy reading novels and short stories, spending time with my family, eating and drinking with my friends (not too often, though, as I have to wake up at 2:30 a.m. to go to work), watching "The Daily Show", and listening to music. I also love being outdoors, getting fresh air and exercise.

The most influential person in my life has been

A wicked sense of humor and a kind heart are really important to me. Also, a blend of maturity and goofiness, and an unconventional outlook on life. I can't choose just one "most important quality".

The first thing people notice about me

People notice that I'm polite and that I smile easily and often.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I'm currently reading "Dress Your Family in Courderoy and Denim", a collection of short stories by David Sedaris. The stories are about his family. I love this book, as well as all of his others, because it's hilarious. I just finished reading "Crooked Little Heart" by Anne LaMott. It's the story of the relationship between a 13 year old girl and her mother. I liked that this book was witty, sad, suspenseful, realistic, and well-written.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family; especially being a part of my nephew's life.
  2. I'm thankful that I've experienced love.
  3. I'm thankful that I'm able to live comfortably working in a profession that I adore.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I don't think people realize that I have a pretty darn silly, and usually irreverent, sense of humor until they get to know me a bit. Also, while I can seem a little reserved at first, I can also be a ball of fire. Well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration. I dunno.

A little more about me

I tend to be drawn to music, movies, clothes that are a little on the funky side; I'm not conservative, politally or otherwise. If I'm listening to the radio, it's tuned to a college radio station or NPR.
