More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Travel; the exchange of thoughts and ideas, and experiencing and learning new things

I typically spend my leisure time

In no particular order: exercising, watching tv, reading books, job-hunting, listening to npr, researching graduate schools/careers, singing, opening up a nice bottle of wine, watching movies, making jewelry, going out to eat.

The most influential person in my life has been

Loves animals; has a high degree of emotional awareness; is willing to try new things; an avid traveler; good conversationalist; a person who carries himself well, shares some of my interests and passions, oh--and bathes regularly =)

The first thing people notice about me

Gosh, I have no idea! Maybe my glasses? Once we start talking though, they'll see that I am very good natured, I care a great deal about people, animals, and social issues (such as poverty, housing, and childhood obesity) and that at times I can be a wee bit sarcastic. Don't be scared, though, I'm really a softy at heart!

The last book I read and enjoyed

I was surprised that I liked the da Vinci Code, since I had resisted reading it for over two years. I liked it because one of its central messages is about how organized religion set out to reverse women's importance in history. I really enjoyed David Sedaris' 'Me Talk Pretty One Day' and 'Holidays on Ice' for the witty satire and strange social commentary.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My cat
  2. My friends
  3. My freedom, talents, and willingness to do things that most people wouldn't expect.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I can sing; that I'm actually my age--I've always looked younger than my chronological age, which has had its benefits, but sometimes I feel that looking younger causes people to take me less seriously in certain situations, such as job interviews and important meetings.

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Intelligent, Perceptive, Thoughtful

A little more about me

I'm a vegetarian.
