More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Thoughtful, subtle, and intelligent art. Modest but noble adventure.

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading, writing, and drawing. I thoroughly enjoy meals shared with small groups of friends (mostly from grad school). Also, I find endless contentment in a good long walk; the first twenty paragraphs of Thoreau's "Walking" strike a deep chord.

The most influential person in my life has been

Industrious, goal-oriented, self motivation. If, every once in a while, you find yourself saying, "Screw it. I don't care what they say, I'll find a way to make this work!" then you're pretty cool in my book.

The first thing people notice about me

I don't know. I'll ask a few friends and try to update this.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Siddhartha, by Herman Hesse. It's about a very perceptive man's journey through different spiritual phases of his life. I liked it because it cleverly pointed out the thousands of petty little traps to which we are all prone. Also, the few passages about passion rival Shakespeare.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. That I live in a free country.
  2. That I enjoyed a great education.
  3. That I come from a loving, loyal (and only mildly flawed) family.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm looking for reasons to be a little irresponsible, if just for a moment, and then laugh about it later.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Happy, Perceptive, Thoughtful

A little more about me

I'm not sure how much weight to give this quasi-scientific "29 points" system. Perhaps by giving it a little authority we end up having a more open mind to meeting new people. In the end, that's not all bad.
