The one thing I am passionate about...
acquiring wisdom and knowledge for its own sake; animals in general and my pets specifically; exotic plants; reading; nature; doing whatever I can to make the world a better place; investing whatever it takes to find and maintain a healthy, satisfying long-term relationship with a man who is right for me
I typically spend my leisure time
Working! But I don't expect it to stay that way for much longer. Since I've turned my hobbies into money-making enterprises, I don't mind it so much. I own an exotic plant nursery and enjoy that a lot. I try to spend at least an hour a day reading. If money were no object, I'd maybe have or adopt a child, or several, and spend more time just relaxing, traveling, socializing, or volunteering for several good causes.
The most influential person in my life has been
it's hard to pick THE most important quality - I'd like to find someone who is compassionate, honest, loyal, empathetic, not overly critical, very intelligent(intellectual and emotional), generally competent, justifiably confident, & disease-free with clean teeth : ) Someone who wants to have or adopt a child, or has children to share with me. Prosperous enough that I won't have to work full-time and can therefore spend enough time on the kids, the household, and the relationship, with someone who values that. And P.S. If you voted for Bush, don't even bother.
The first thing people notice about me
my deep voice and strange accent (or so I've been told) and shortly thereafter, my intelligence, my compassion and kindness, my sense of humor. I like to talk a lot but also value silence.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I've recently gone on a reading diet, instead of the usual heavy, philosophical, educational or otherwise intellectually-stimulating material, I've switched to plain old everyday crime stories and mysteries. I'm a compulsive reader and enjoy a wide diversity of subjects - if I answered this question literally, I'd have to change the answer every three days or so. I've recently read Neil Clark Warren's books about finding a mate, and some others about maintaining a good relationship. I recommend that other singles do the same!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- the beauty and diversity of nature and mankind, scientific advancements, access to knowledge
- that I have survived all of life's hard knocks so far and have learned to how to keep doing so
- the love and support of family and friends and sunny warm weather
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm more mature than I sometimes seem - my 'childlike' positive attitude doesn't mean I can't be serious. Still waters may always run deep, but bubbly waters can run deep as well.
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Creative, Intelligent, Rational
A little more about me
I am a study in contradictions, yet full of integrity. I'm responsible and mature, yet childlike; positive and optimistic, yet cynical; not religious or into mainstream spirituality, yet highly ethical; adventurous, yet quite a homebody; highly intelligent, yet sometimes clueless; visionary yet practical; confident, yet insecure, etc etc And in spite of how that may sound, I'm not crazy or inappropriately moody! I look young for my age, decent figure, not overweight, am disease-free, have clean teeth:)Will not relocate fulltime or permanently, but would welcome the right man to come and share my large, gorgeous home here in Paradise.
