More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about finding a good match to love and be loved.I am also passionate about giving back to those less fortunate than I am. I do part time pro-bono technical work for a local non-profit that helps kids who are in trouble. I am a database specialist. I also make large, public art for non-profits.

I typically spend my leisure time

Dinner with friends. Reading (mostly non-fiction). Travel (US, some foreign, geology field trips); making art

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for a partner who is intelligent, loving, kind, and interested in many things including all sorts of adventures, large and small. Honesty and openness are requirements.

The first thing people notice about me

My friendly smile and my kind heart.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I enjoyed "The Street Smart Naturalist" by David Williams, especially the passages about our cleaver urban crows. I read "The Hole in the Flag" by Andrei Codrescu, a fascinating recounting of returning to Romania just after the fall of Ceausecu and trying to understand that revolution. I also read "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell, a book about how we make choices in an instant -- sizing up people and assessing situations. "Blink" is certainly appropriate for someone about to start on internet dating!

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family and friends, of course.
  2. Having a life full of new, challenging opportunities.
  3. The changes that the Obama administration is trying to make.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

The fact that I have led an interesting life, including living in Australia, Holland, and Washington DC.I have just finished making my 5th installation of large public art.
