More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Experiences! There is so much to explore in this life. I constantly travel to new places, meet new people and make new friends. I've set my career around my passion for discovery and learning. I stay as fit as possible so I can always try new sports and keep an active way of life. I love to read - knowledge is addictive for me, and often catch myself wandering off course when researching in Wikipedia.

I typically spend my leisure time

At times, I like to be active and pursue outdoor sports like hiking and backpacking, snowboarding or mountain biking. Other times, I love to spend time with close friends in conversation. I also truly need some time for "me" - reading or pursuing my creative projects.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for a woman who is strong, independent, and driven to explore her potential. Although she has the desire for continuous self-discovery, she realizes, as I do, that the best relationships are those in which each partner inspires and challenges the other to grow - in an encouraging way - in order to learn and to experience life together.

The first thing people notice about me

I have a continually-shifting sense of humor. Sometimes so dry and sarcastic as to not be noticed as humor (which can be frustrating, because I also hate to be rude)... sometimes goofy enough to make people groan (I got that from my dad!)... and I talk with an abundance of supportive hand gestures. What can I say? The Italian blood is strong.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read Charles C. Mann's "1491," which is a non-fiction historical account of Native Americans in North and South America prior to European contact. Some of the evidence pointing to populous and advanced culture is mind-blowing. It was one of those rare books that really opened up a new way of thinking for me.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Close relationships and support from my family and friends.
  2. Other people's perspectives. How else would I understand my own life better?
  3. A sense that there is something greater than what we can understand. It gives me motivation.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm capable of nearly anything I can put my mind to, given time, resources, and understanding.
