More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

If I had to pick only one thing it would have to be growing in the Holy Orthodox faith, and teaching Others about the love of God and having a relationship with Him, especially My Children

I typically spend my leisure time

reading a book, watching t.v., or hiking. I usually watch educational shows like PBS documentaries, rather than entertainment. I can watch my cat chase a butterfly to be entertained. Keeping up with pop-culture is not even on my list of things to do.

The most influential person in my life has been

Love of Jesus Christ; Kindness; Compassion; Love of Children, (especially mine!); Intelligence; and someone who enjoys cooking and has a sense of adventure and an adventurous palate.

The first thing people notice about me

My laugh

The last book I read and enjoyed

a biography of St. Innocent of Alaska;I was very impressed by his indefatigable love of people. I read an article out of a magazine/journal every night on topics as varied as Astronomy to Zoroastrianism. Generally its in the field of science, Nature, Cultures/religions. More recently I've finished St. Theophan the recluce's "Kindling the divine spark" which was a compilation of sermons that he preached to a group of nuns. I found that his advice could easily be applied to my life as well. I just finished the audiobook "Hot, Flat, and Crowded" by Thomas Friedman; Most excelent! The ladder of divine assent John Climacos; Combat Patrl

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The love of God
  2. the love of my daughters
  3. the ability to walk and sit up by myself again

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm usually smiling, but when I'm not, I'm Thinking not frowning. :-)

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Good listener, Spiritual, Sweet

A little more about me

I'm an evangelical missions minded (formerly Protestant) christian who converted to Eastern Orthodox Christianity. My relationship with God has deepened emensly. However, I've found that my own spirituality deepens the most when I hang out with those who share my beliefs. I'm looking for someone who is looking for someone who likes to pray by daily rule and extemporaneously. Also,I had a stroke when I was 29 and am still partialy paralyzed on the left side. But I can walk again! Praise God! The stroke destroyed the part of my brain that produces the "feelgood hormones" so I take them in medicine.

I am
Somewhat Conservative
