More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am most passionate about making a positive difference in peoples lives and the life of communities.

I typically spend my leisure time

I read quite a bit usually three to five books going at once. I also socialize both at home and out.

The most influential person in my life has been

Warm, friendly with a willingness to love and be loved.

The first thing people notice about me

My friendliness.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just finished "Flow, The Psychology of Optimal Experience" by M. Csikszentmihaly. A somewhat difficult book on aspects of enhancing the quality of life experiences. The author is expanding on graduate research on "optimal experiences". The work contends that there is a state of consciousness called "flow" which allows a person to get the most of a life experience. The author goes on to explain how "flow" can be controlled.Interesting but not exactly new, my opinion

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family
  2. Health
  3. Intellect

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My caring nature.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Intelligent, Kind, Outgoing

A little more about me

Yes, and this is what I call "the deal breaker" but is too important not to be totally up-front about. I am a quadriplegic due to a spinal cord injury. This does redirect some of my activities but is not the sum of who I am. Many people do not understand the term quadriplegic, they assume that the term describes complete impairment of movement. Actually the term refers to the number of limbs effected. My four limbs are involved and though I can not walk I am independent once I'm up. And, I must add that though I have paralysis I have the ability to have a totally active physical relationship.
